A total of 130 direct procurement centres to benefit paddy farmers have been set up across the State over the past 40 months, while 100 more are in various stages of construction, the State government said on Friday.
It had earlier sanctioned ₹100 crore for 230 such centres across the State.
On Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s directions, orders were issued to build 259 paddy storage godowns for ₹358 crore. Of this, 213 godowns have been set up across the State.
