No other State government in the country has resolved as many public issues as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala in the past four years, Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian has said.
He was inaugurating the Ambalappuzha taluk Karuthalum Kaithangum complaint redressal adalat at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School in Alappuzha on Saturday (January 4, 2025).
Mr. Cherian said that previous adalats organised under the leadership of Ministers had been a great success. “The initiatives like Vana Sadassu, Theera Sadassu, Navakerala Sadassu, Revenue and Local Self-Government department adalats have helped resolve the issues of lakhs of people. The reduction in the number of complaints in recent adalats indicates that previous such initiatives by the government have brought relief to the people. Adalats have highlighted issues that require changes in rules and guidelines. The government will try to resolve these issues as well,” the Minister said.
Of the 390 complaints received at the adalat, 278 have been settled.
Adalat in Kuttanad taluk will be held at M.S. Swaminathan Rice Research Station, Mankombu on January 6, followed by Karthikappally at Thamarassery Convention Centre, Cheppad on January 7, Chengannur at the auditoirum of IHRD Engineering College, Chengannur on January 13 and Mavelikara at Bishop Hodges School, Mavelikara on January 14.
H. Salam, MLA, presided. P.P. Chitharanjan, MLA, Alappuzha District Panchayat president K.G. Rajeshwari, Alappuzha Municipal chairperson K.K. Jayamma, District Collector Alex Varghese and others attended the inaugural function.
