Anantapur Collector cautions against fake social media accounts

Anantapur district Collector Vinod Kumar V. cautioned both the government officials and general public about fake social media accounts created in the name of senior government officials, with which fraudsters are demanding money.

In a statement on Wednesday, Mr. Vinod Kumar said that it had come to his notice that some people were asking for money through fake accounts created in his name and other senior officials. He said that the fraudsters had created fake accounts in the name of a Municipal Commissioner, Tehsildar and other senior officials.

The Collector asked the general public and government employees to be cautious and send money only after proper confirmation. Mr. Vinod Kumar asked people to approach the police if they receive any requests from fake social media accounts.
