Andhra Pradesh liquor scam: three accused ignore SIT summons, skip questioning

In defiance of the summons issued by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the alleged liquor scam, retired IAS officer and former Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) K. Dhanunjaya Reddy, former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan mohan Reddy’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Krishna Mohan Reddy, and director of Bharati Cements Govindappa Balaji did not attend for questioning on Sunday.

The SIT had issued notices to the three accused for their alleged involvement in the multi-crore scam that had allegedly taken place during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s term. The investigation agency had asked them to appear before the investigation officers at its office located in Vijayawada. However, none of them turned up for questioning.

The accused were at large for the last few days, and the police launched a search for them in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
