Assembly session to resume on March 3

The 13th session of the 15th Kerala Assembly will resume on Monday (March 3, 2025) after a break. The remaining days of the session will see the presentation of a number of important bills and the discussion and voting on the demands for grants for the 2025-26 fiscal.

Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal had presented the State Budget on February 7, earlier in the current session.

The Assembly is likely to see heated debate on a number of issues including the ongoing agitation of the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), the recent spate of crimes involving young people and the alleged lukewarm response of the State government to the Centre’s proposal on offshore sand mining off the Kerala coast.

The Kerala University Laws (Amendment ) Bill, 2025, and the Kerala University Laws (Amendment ) (No. 2) Bill, 2025, and the The Kerala State Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) Bill, 2025, will be introduced on Monday (March 3) with a motion for reference to the subject committee. The Kerala Appropriation Bill also will be introduced on Monday.

The session will also see the introduction of the Kerala Sports (Amendment) Bill and the The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

After sittings on Monday and Tuesday, the House will take a short break before reconvening on March 10. The 13th session will conclude on March 25.
