As many as 21.68 guntas of encroached land at Sarakki Lake in the Bommanahalli zone was cleared, bringing it back under the control of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). The total value of the reclaimed land is ₹20 crore.
BBMP has been conducting surveys and eviction drives to remove encroachments on lakes within its jurisdiction. As part of this effort, the Revenue Department recently surveyed Sarakki Lake (Jarganahalli Survey No. 7) and identified 21.68 guntas of encroached land, which included sheds and roads built on the lake area.
Following this, the Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer of the Lakes Division carried out the eviction drive and fenced off the reclaimed land.
