Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai on Thursday claimed BJP cadres are continuously involved in creating law and order problems.
In a post on X, he alleged BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan along with other party members tried to organise a signature campaign in support of three language formula, without police permission and caused hindrance to the public and traffic movement.
In a democratic country, processions, meetings, rallies, campaigns can be held after getting approval. “Can Mrs. Soundararajan, who served as Governor in two states, disregard the law and argue with police personnel with the intent to disrupt peace?,“ Mr. Selvaperunthagai asked.
Unable to tolerate the public support received for the all-party meeting held yesterday, BJP members are resorting to such actions as a diversionary tactic. Congress strongly condemns such actions, he claimed.
In a separate statement, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said the signature campaign is going to be a big setback for BJP’s future.
