The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take part in the all-party meeting called by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on delimitation only if the CM says who gave details about the delimitation exercise, said K. Annamalai, Tamil Nadu president of the BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had clarified earlier that delimitation would not be based on the “Congress model of delimitation” that was based on population. The BJP did not accept it. “It is our (BJP Tamil Nadu) responsibility to ensure the delimitation does not affect the people of Tamil Nadu,” he said.
“No one had spoken about delimitation. But, the Chief Minister said it would affect Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister should not create fear among the public. He was trying to divert attention of the people from the three language policy. So, the BJP would participate in the all-party meeting only if the Chief Minister said who had given the details about delimitation,” Mr Annamalai said.
On the National Education Policy, he doubted if the Chief Minister or the School Education Minister had read the policy. The questions raised about the policy were imaginary.
On the protest by the JACTTO-GEO, Mr. Annamalai said the BJP supported the government employees, but charged the JACTTO-GEO and the DMK were twin brothers. “The JACTTO-GEO had campaigned for the DMK in the elections,” he claimed.
