Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday said that the party’s campaign ‘Vikasitha Keralam’ was not a mere slogan but a solemn responsibility.
Speaking at a Vikasitha Keralam convention held here, he said the BJP believed in development-oriented politics, unlike the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)].
“Despite years of alternating rule between the Congress and the CPI(M), Kerala continues to lag behind in development, employment generation, and investments compared to the rest of the country,” he said.
“The government has failed to create infrastructure or frame effective policies. Instead, it rebrands Central schemes as the State’s initiatives,” he alleged. He added that Kerala’s youth were forced to migrate to other States for jobs and education.
He urged BJP workers to actively counter what he termed a false narrative propagated by the CPI(M) and the Congress, which, according to him, painted the BJP as a communal party.
