HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader T. Harish Rao condemned the arrest of party GHMC corporators on Thursday during the council meeting.
Mr. Rao sought to know why the government does not want to allow the corporators to raise voice on release of funds allocated in the last budget.
He said the Congress government did not make any major spends from the last year’s budget allocations and only some numbers were changed this year by the council led by a corporator who defected to the ruling party. He demanded that all the arrested corporators of BRS be released.
It is undemocratic that the council had announced passing of the budget without any debate on the allocations, he said, adding that the BRS corporators were forcibly taken out of the council meeting for their simple demand for discussion on non-release of the funds allocated in the last year’s budget.
