Minister for Tourism and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh on Sunday (January 26) stated that a three-member Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan was studying possibilities to recommend developing tourism facilities in the reserve forests and endowment sites in Andhra Pradesh. The committee also consists of Mr. Durgesh and Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr. Durgesh said that the State government faced many challenges in developing potential sites as tourism destinations as they are under the purview of the Forest and or Endowment departments. “The new sites that are located in the Reserve Forest and Endowment lands will be developed based on the recommendations to be made by the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Tourism,” the Minister said.
Cinema policy
Referring to different views on the government policy on movie ticket prices, Mr. Durgesh has said that the State government would soon come up with a new cinema policy to deal with challenges in ticket pricing and other issues associated with the film industry. “The talks are on with the Film Producers Council seeking their suggestions to prepare a draft of the cinema policy,” he said.
