Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has assured a delegation of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) and the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (SIHRA) that the State government will extend all support to the hotel industry that is exploring opportunities in the State.
Addressing the delegates who met him at his residence on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said special incentives would be given to those investing in Andhra Pradesh, and noted that the State had tremendous potential for growth of the sector, and the government would set up an advisory committee that would facilitate investments. He said the government was committed to tourism development, and that hotels and restaurants played a key role in it.
Mr. Naidu said there was a great opportunity for tourism development in Chittoor and Srisailam, and that the government would allocate land there for the construction of star hotels. Additionally, plans were drawn up for promoting tourism in East and West Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts in a big way, he added.
The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary (Tourism) Ajay Jain, Secretary Karthikeya Mishra, Telangana Hoteliers’ Association leader Venkata Reddy, Tamil Nadu Hoteliers’ Association leader Subbu, and GRT Hotels Chairman Natarajan.
