In a bizarre incident that left some 300 candidates and some officials baffled, an eagle swooped down and snatched a hall ticket from a candidate moments before a Kerala Public Service Commision (PSC) test commenced at a school in Kasaragod district of Kerala on Thursday (April 10, 2025) morning.
The candidate, who had arrived early to revise before the 7.30 a.m exam at the Government UP School in Kasaragod, had placed his hall ticket beside him when the eagle suddenly descended, grabbed it in its beak and flew up to a perch on a window above the parish hall. The stunned candidate and fellow examinees watched in disbelief as the bird sat calmly, hall ticket in beak, seemingly unbothered by the commotion below.

Despite appeals from others to throw stones and retrieve the ticket, the candidate held back, fearing that the bird might fly away for good. As minutes ticked past and the last bell approached, the eagle finally dropped the hall ticket, allowing the relieved candidate to retrieve it and rush into the exam hall just in time.
Officials confirmed that a candidate would not be allowed to write the exam without a hall ticket, regardless of the circumstances. The candidate’s identity remains unknown as he avoided journalists who arrived after the incident. However, a video of the episode has since gone viral on social media.
