A 75-year-old woman, a native of Rajasthan, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Krishna Nagar, Moula Ali, in the early hours of Monday (April 14). Following a complaint, the Kushaiguda police booked a case and launched a manhunt to trace a worker accused of murdering the woman.
According to the First information Report (FIR) accessed by The Hindu, the deceased Kamala Chowdary, who was residing alone on the first floor of her independent house, was found dead with a saree tightly wound around her neck, tied to an iron rod and fastened between a ceiling hook and a window. The body was found in a decomposed state with a bleeding injury to the back of her head.
Her brother Sajjan Prakash Chowdary from New Vasavi Nagar in Secunderabad informed that he had received a call from Kushaiguda police around 3 a.m. on April 14 informing him about the death. He immediately rushed to the scene along with his relatives.
In his written complaint submitted later in the morning, Mr. Sajjan alleged that Kamala had been murdered by Krishnapal Singh, a worker at the hardware shop on the ground floor of the same building.
