A man from Dharmavaram, who had gone to Saudi Arabia for work and was harassed by his employer, returned to India on June 22, following intervention by Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav.
According to a release from the Health Department on Monday, Syed Farooq, a native of Puttaparthi, had gone to Saudi Arabia through an agent, who promised him a driver’s job. After going there, Farooq was reportedly forced to do domestic chores without a salary, accommodation or proper food.
Having undergone severe mental duress, Mr. Farooq made a call to Dharmavaram Assembly constituency in-charge Harish Babu, who brought the issue to the attention of the Minister. The Minister wrote a letter to Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Kirti Vardhan Singh, and requested him to ensure that Mr. Farooq’s return to India be arranged.
Mr. Farooq thanked Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav.
