Fire at labourers’ colony in Bengaluru guts 40 sheds

As many as 40 makeshift sheds were gutted after an accidental fire broke out at the labourers’ colony in Veerannapalya in Govindapura in Bengaluru on Saturday (April 12, 2025) night. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

Residents of the colony, employed in a toy factory and daily wagers from other parts of the State, rushed to the safety along with their family members, as soon as they spotted the fire at one of the sheds. The fire soon engulfed adjacent sheds, destroying goods and material worth several lakhs.

The Govindapura Police along with the Fire and Emergency Service Personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire after four hours of struggle. The fire personnel and the police are probing to ascertain the cause of fire.
