Funds sanctioned for SGOU headquarters

Funds have ben sanctioned to acquire land for the construction of Sreenarayanaguru Open University (SGOU) headquarters building in Kollam. The Finance department has approved the acquisition of 3.292 hectares (8.13 acres) of land at Mundakkal village in Kollam taluk. Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal said that ₹26.02 crore has been allocated for the purpose after approving the recommendations of the Higher Education department and the Revenue department. The construction of the building near Beach Road in Kollam city will commence soon, said Vice-Chancellor Jagathy Raj V.P. and syndicate member Biju K. Mathew.
