GM University hosts International Education Fair in Davangere

Scores of students aspiring to study abroad were given information on various courses, learning opportunities in universities overseas, scholarship programmes and other details during the first International Education Fair organised at GM University in Davangere on Thursday.

Inaugurating the one-day event, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of GM University H.D. Maheshappa said that while ensuring quality of education is important, it is also essential to consider various aspects while weighing in options with regard to studying abroad.

Prof. Maheshappa said that one has to consider ranking or rating of the university, campus life and safety while shortlisting educational institutions for studying abroad.

He said that the education fair will help those intending to study abroad and also those who are interested in the learning options available in such universities.

Registrar of GM University Sunilkumar B.S. said that information gathered in education fairs will make students more confident when taking a decision on pursuing their higher education. He said that the university will assist students in taking the right decision.

Principal of GM College of Pharmacy Girsh Bolakatti emphasised the need for having a positive mindset and a broader vision while taking a decision pertaining to one’s career and education.

In the day-long education fair, representatives of several foreign universities, including Arizona State University, Pace University, University of Connecticut, University of Oregon, Simmons University, University of Akron, Hult University, Drexel University, Temple University, Miami university and others took part in the event.

They gave guidance to students on the various courses, entrance examination and fee, scholarships and other details.

CEO of Edu Trust from Bengaluru Arun Sad, Managing Director Savita Arun, Director of GMU Training and Placement Wing Tejaswi Kattimani and others were present.
