Golla Kurmuma communities demand Cabinet berth

Members of the Yadava and Kuruma communities took out a protest march to Gandhi Bhavan — the party headquarters of the Congress, demanding Cabinet berth, free health cards and insurance for the people involved in sheep rearing.

The protesters took livestock to the Gandhi Bhavan wearing traditional attire and raised slogans demanding Cabinet berth for the two communities. Police intervened and tried to pacify the protesters.

The protest comes at a time when AICC incharge Meenakshi Natarajan is holding meetings with various wings of the party. This is not the first time that the party has held protests. Earlier, they met with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and also TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud.
