The Governor issued an order on Monday (February 10, 2025) extending the tenure of M.K. Ramesh, Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) by six months.
In his order, the Governor said that Dr. Ramesh assumed office on February 11, 2022. His tenure ended on February 10, 2025. However, the selection of a suitable candidate for this position has not been completed.
In exercise of his powers under Section 12(5) of the RGUHS Act, 1994, the Governor extended the tenure of Dr. Ramesh for six months or until a regular V-C was appointed or until further orders.
