Grand arrangements under way for Srinivasa Kalyanam in Amaravati

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has completed all arrangements for the grand celebration of the celestial Srinivasa Kalyanam, scheduled to take place on March 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Venkatapalem, Amaravati. 

TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, addressing a press conference here on Thursday at the venue, announced that the event marks the beginning of Amaravati’s reconstruction, in line with the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He stated that as per the Chief Minister’s wish, the reconstruction of Amaravati will commence with the divine blessings of Srivaru after the celestial Srinivasa Kalyanam. 

The Chairman also revealed that the tender process for the first installment of ₹30,000 crore has been completed to kickstart Amaravati’s reconstruction. He mentioned that the Chief Minister wants every citizen to receive divine blessings, and thus, Srinivasa Kalyanam is being planned on a grand scale. Meetings with Amaravati farmers and farmers’ association leaders have been held, and all have expressed their willingness to be active participants in the city’s reconstruction. 

The event will witness the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Sstate Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, farmers, and devotees from various villages and regions. 

TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao assured that all necessary arrangements have been made in collaboration with the district administration to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and the convenience of devotees. The Srinivasa Kalyanam will be conducted by priests and Vedic scholars from Tirumala, commencing with Mangala Dhwani. A specially constructed venue will accommodate 27,000 devotees to witness the grand spiritual event. Flex boards and hoardings have been placed across Guntur, Vijayawada, and other major areas to create awareness. 

Extensive electrical arrangements have been made, including LED TVs around the venue for clear viewing and backup generators to ensure an uninterrupted power supply. Tight security measures are in place with 160 TTD vigilance personnel, 600 Guntur police officers, five drones, and 70 CCTV cameras. An integrated command control center has also been set up for monitoring. Parking facilities have been arranged, with space for 400 VVIP vehicles, 1,000 vehicles near the temple, and 1,500 vehicles on Seed Axis Road. 

To accommodate devotees, Annaprasadam, buttermilk, fresh water, and laddu prasadam will be distributed with the support of Srivari Seva volunteers. Two medical camps with doctors, paramedics, and ambulances will be available for any emergencies. A total of 100 sanitation workers and 100 mobile toilets have been deployed to maintain cleanliness at the venue. APSRTC will operate 310 special buses to facilitate travel for devotees from different locations. The temple and Kalyanam venue will be adorned with traditional decors and flowers to create a divine ambiance. 

Cutural programmes

A series of cultural and devotional programs will take place before the main event. From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Srinivasa Sankeertana will be performed by renowned artist Ms. Nithyasree Mahadevan from Chennai. This will be followed by Annamacharya Sankeertanas by the Priya Sisters from Chennai from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. At 6:20 p.m., a spiritual discourse will be delivered by Sri Gangadhara Shastri. The main event, Srinivasa Kalyanam, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be narrated by Saraswati Putra, Sahasravadhani Medasani Mohan. 

The event will be broadcast live by SVBC for global devotees, with media access to a live frequency without a logo. TTD board members, including Jyotula Nehru, Ms. Panabaka Lakshmi, Santa Ram, M.S. Raju, Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Joint EO Veerabrahamam, and CE Satyanarayana participated in the press briefing.
