How to check pan card validity status, whether your PAN card is active or not

The Central Government has disabled 11.44 lakh PAN cards on July 27 and several thousand fake PAN cards have also been identified. Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar informed the Parliament that more than 11.44 lakh PAN cards have been closed or deactivated. This has been done in cases where more than one PAN cards were allotted to a person.

Gangwar said that till July 27, 1,566 fake PAN was identified. If you have more than one PAN card, then you can know which card is valid by checking online. For this, you have to implement the process given below.

You can check the validity status of PAN card like this

1. To know the validity of PAN Card, visit the Income Tax e-Filing website. Click on the No Your Pan button seen on the left side of the screen here.
2. On the next page, other important information like name, status and mobile number will be asked. You give details of them. The mobile number should be what you gave in the PAN card form. Because OTP will be sent to this number for user verification.
3. After giving all the details, click on the submit button. After this, put the OTP number on the next page which has come to your registered phone number.
4. If you have many PAN cards in your name, then you will be asked some more questions, such as father’s name.
5. After giving the information sought, you will be able to check the validity status of your PAN card. Apart from here, those PAN cards which are active will also be known.

Make it clear that to check the validity status of the PAN card, the information given by you should be correct. These information should be matched to the information given by you in the PAN card application.
