Hyderabad is preparing for the annual Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, which is set to take place on 6 April 2025. Organised by the Bhagyanagar Ram Navami Utsav Samithi, the grand religious procession will begin at the historic Sitarambagh Temple and conclude with a Dharma Sabha at Koti.
Bhagyanagar Ram Navami Utsav Samithi president Bhagwanth Rao said that the event, which has been conducted annually since 2010, is expected to draw large crowds of devotees and dignitaries. Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma will attend the Ram Navami Kalyanam Festival at Sitarambagh Temple between 11 a.m. and 12 noon.

“The yatra will traverse several key areas, including Bhoiguda Kaman, Dhoolpet, Jali Hanuman, Begum Bazaar, Gowliguda Chaman, and Putlibowli, before culminating in a public meeting at Koti Sultan Bazaar. Thousands of devotees are expected to participate, carrying religious flags, chanting hymns, and celebrating the occasion with fervour,” said Mr Rao.
He added that Ananth Vibhushit Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshjanad Dev Theerth Maharaj of Govardhan Peeth, along with the Deputy Speaker of Tripura, Ram Prasad Paul, will address gatherings at Begum Bazaar Chatri and Sultan Bazaar, Koti. “The main procession will commence from Seetaram Bagh Mandir at 1 p.m.,” he said.
Meanwhile, in anticipation of the large-scale participation, Hyderabad Police are taking extensive security measures.
On April 4, C. V. Anand, Director General and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, held a video conference with police officials to review security arrangements. He emphasised the importance of vigilance and special surveillance at key intersections where the main procession will merge with smaller processions. Security forces will be deployed in sensitive areas, particularly around religious sites, to prevent any untoward incidents.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vikram Singh Mann, along with S. Chaitanya Kumar, DCP Special Branch, and Pushpa, DCP IT Cell, participated in the briefing.
Officers from Zonal Control Rooms, Special Branch, and other units have been instructed to remain on high alert. Special attention will also be given to preventing pick-pocketing and chain-snatching during the event.
