The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to scrap ₹1,172 crore white-topping tender works approved during 2018-19 in Bengaluru, following non-commencement of the work.
Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil told reporters that the tenders were approved during 2018-19 and work had not commenced even after five years. The Cabinet has decided to cancel the tender work of white-topping on 119 km of 92 roads in the BBMP limits.
Mr. Patil said some roads have already been asphalted while others are under maintenance. As a result, the Cabinet felt there was no necessity of white-topping those roads, he said.
