Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao urged the farming community to oppose the State government’s alleged plans to betray them by denying investment support under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

In an open letter addressed to the farming community on Sunday, Mr. Rama Rao demanded investment support for all landholding farmers. He accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of avoiding any commitment on Rythu Bharosa and diverting attention by addressing unrelated issues.

He claimed that during a short discussion in the Assembly on Saturday, the Congress government hinted at adopting PM-KISAN guidelines for implementing Rythu Bharosa, leaving farmers to figure out how many would qualify for the Central scheme and its benefits.

Terming the State government’s allegations that over ₹22,000 crore of Rythu Bandhu funds were diverted to real estate and stone crushers as a misinformation campaign to maign the previous BRS government, Mr. Rama Rao said it was an insult to farmers. He urged the farming community to voice their concerns and challenge ruling party leaders at the village level, warning that silence could cost them the benefit permanently.

Mr. Rama Rao assured the farming community that the BRS would stand by them and support any voice that would oppose the government’s move to deny them investment support. He stated the BRS regime in the past had credited ₹72,000 crore to farmers’ bank accounts as investment support under Rythu Bandhu and another ₹28,000 crore as crop loan waiver.
