Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT and Human Resources Development N. Lokesh, along with Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, inaugurated several developmental works in Mangalagiri Assembly constituency on Friday.

Mr. Lokesh and Mr. Chandra Sekhar inaugurated the Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Gosala (cow shelter) at Yerrabalem village and participated in the installation of the Shri Bhagwan Mahavir’s statue.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokesh underscored the government’s commitment to resolving local issues, including traffic congestion, and rehabilitation of stray cattle through dedicated cow shelters.

He announced that 5,000 housing plots would be distributed in the first phase after Ugadi, benefiting long-time residents living on government and railway lands. “Plans are under way for the second and third phases of distribution of plots,” he added.

For goldsmiths

Stating that the coalition NDA government had initiated one hundred developmental projects, which included parks, community centres, and infrastructure upgrades, Mr. Lokesh said that a ‘Gems and Jewelry Park’ would be established in Mangalagiri to support goldsmiths, with land already identified for the purpose.

Mr. Chandra Sekhar promised compensation for the turmeric farmers affected by recent losses and pledged to expand AIIMS in the region.

‘Green and Red books’

He described Mr. Lokesh as a youth leader and a visionary administrator. “There is a Green Book for development and Red Book for lawlessness,” he quipped. He further appreciated Mr. Lokesh’s efforts in driving forward progressive initiatives and ensuring stability in governance.

Referring to the difficulties faced by the business communities in the last five years, Mr. Chandra Sekhar said with the TDP-led coalition government now in power, developmental projects were gaining momentum in every village.
