The police on Monday arrested a 34-year-old man who attempted to steal a bus from the KSRTC stand in Thiruvalla on Sunday night.
The accused, identified as Jebin Paul from Anjilithanam, tried to drive away with the bus around 10.15 p.m. KSRTC employees and bystanders detained him before he could escape and alerted the police. A police team that arrived at the scene took him into custody.
Based on a complaint filed by station master P.K. Suresh, a case was registered for trespassing and attempting to steal the bus. During questioning, Jebin confessed to the crime and was formally arrested on Monday morning. He was produced before a magistrate.
