A 15-year-old girl and her 42-year-old neighbour, who had been missing for nearly a month, were found dead in Paivalike, Kasargod on Sunday (March 9, 2025) morning.

The girl, a class 10 student had gone missing on February 12, prompting her partents to file a complaint with the Kumbala police. She was reported missing after her parents discovered she was not at home when they woke up that morning. In their complaint, the parents also noted that Pradeep, a neighbour had also disappeared on the same day.
His mobile phone’s location data helped police narrow down the search area.
At the scene, the police recovered two mobile phone and a knife. Preliminary investigation suggest that the two died by suicide. The police have initiated inquest proceedings to determine the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths.
