Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday (December 11, 2024) launched ‘Jan Kalyan Parv’ and ‘Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan’ on completion of first year of the State’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government under his leadership. The two programmes are aimed at highlighting the works undertaken during his tenure and connecting more people to the government’s welfare schemes.

‘Jan Kalyan Parv’ (public welfare festival) and ‘Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan’ (public welfare campaign) will be run from December 11 to 26 and December 11 to January 26, respectively.

Mr. Yadav, a third-term MLA from Ujjain (Dakshin), was chosen as the BJP legislative party leader on December 11, 2023, and was sworn into the office on December 13. He replaced the State’s longest serving CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is now a Union Cabinet Minister, after the BJP stormed back to power with a massive mandate in the November, 2023, Assembly elections.

“It is a happy coincidence that on the occasion of Gita Jayanti (believed to be the Hindu scripture Shreemad Bhagwat Gita was recited by Lord Krishna), Jan Kalyan Parv and Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan are being launched in the State. Foundation and inauguration of many development works will take place in the Jan Kalyan Parv,” Mr. Yadav said, at a event called Gita Mahotsav.

“Under the Mukhya Mantri Jan Kalyan Abhiyan, a door-to-door survey will be conducted to ensure that the benefits of 34 beneficiary-oriented schemes, 11 target-based schemes, and 63 services are provided to the poor, youth, farmers, and women by providing new opportunities. Every eligible person will be linked to public welfare schemes through the campaign,” the Chief Minister added.

Mr. Yadav also received the certificate of ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ for the recitation of the verses of the Gita by thousands of Acharyas simultaneously on the occasion of Geeta Mahotsav. Geeta was recited by More than 7,000 persons, including 3,721 Acharyas and Batuks, who were greeted by the CM over the feat.

The CM had called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday and invited him State Government’s Global Investor Summit on February 24 next year and various other upcoming events in Madhya Pradesh.
