Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and cadre broke coconuts at Alipiri, the foot of Tirumala hills, on Sunday (April 20, 2025) to celebrate the 75th birthday of Chief Minister and party president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Andhra Pradesh Yadava Corporation chairman G. Narasimha Yadav, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh chairman Animini Ravi Naidu, MCT Deputy Mayor R.C. Munikrishna and former Tirupati MLA M. Sugunamma gathered at the point where devotees undertake their holy trek to Tirumala hills and broke the coconuts by chanting ‘Govinda Govinda’. They invoked the blessings of Lord Venkateswara to ensure the health and longevity of Mr. Naidu. They later performed ‘Archana’ on his name.

Close friends meet

Mr. Ravi Naidu, who is also the State general secretary of the party’s youth wing ‘Telugu Yuvatha’, organised a meeting of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s childhood friends, college mates and colleagues in his early days at his alma mater, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) campus.

Bobba Dattatreyudu of Seshapuram and Kothapalli Devaraja Naidu of Kandulavaripalle, both located adjacent to Naravaripalle, the ancestral village of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, respectively, recalled their association with him during their school and college days.

Former legislators Reddivari Rajasekhar Reddy and A. Mohan, as well as former SERIFED chairman A.M. Radhakrishna, attributed their formal entry into the political sphere to the initiation by Mr. Naidu.

SVU retired professors K.M. Naidu (former member of Indian Economic Association) and M. Devasena Naidu, who studied Economics at SVU during Mr. Chandrababu Naidu’s contemporary period, recalled the latter’s insightful assessments of politics.
