The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 50 blots of suspected LSD from a parcel from abroad at the Foreign Post Office (FPO), Ernakulam, on March 29.
Since then, three persons, including a Dutch national, have been arrested in connection with the case. The courier was reportedly from Mexico and meant to be delivered in Kochi.
NCB officials made the arrests by organising a controlled delivery of the parcel at an apartment complex at Kadavanthra in a covert operation on April 3. Among the arrested were the person the parcel was meant for and his associate, the NCB said in a statement.
The enforcement agency suspects the involvement of an international drug trafficking syndicate with potential links across multiple countries. An investigation was on to trace both domestic and international connections involved in the network, the statement added.
The NCB claimed that it had achieved 17 convictions in just 15 days in six NDPS cases across Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
