Well-known Russian youth dance studio Orchid from the City of Rostov-on-Don will perform at the 22nd Annual Russian Dance Festival, which will be held across the State between January 17 and February 3.

The inauguration will be held at the Russian House in Chennai. The festival will be organised jointly by the Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship Society — a distinguished cultural organisation committed to promoting Indo-Russian cultural ties — and the Russian House, Chennai, headed by Mr. Alexander Dedonov, the Vice-Consul.

“The festival is a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural heritage of India and Russia, and aims to strengthen the bond between our nations,” said P. Thangappan, secretary-general of the society.

He said that a team of young artistes would stage a diverse array of mesmerising performances, including ballet, folk, gypsy, acrobatics, gymnastics, and tap dance.

‘Nurturing relations’

“This festival not only highlights the rhythmic and graceful expressions of our cultures, but also serves as a testament to the shared commitment to nurturing lasting international relations,” he added.

The festival will be held in schools, colleges, malls, trade fairs, clubs. Admission is free for the inauguration.
