Panchayat Secretary suspended for uploading CM’s picture on DSR mobile app meant for marking attendance

A Panchayat Secretary in Jagtial district was suspended for allegedly uploading Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s “capture photo” instead of his geo-tagged photograph on the Daily Sanitation Report (DSR) Mobile Application for Panchayat Secretaries to mark their attendance.

T Rajanna, Panchayat Secretary, Chandaiahpalli, Buggaram mandal, was placed under suspension by Jagtial Collector B. Satya Prasad on Friday, official sources said.

The action came a day after the Panchayat Secretary failed to give a suitable reply to a show-cause notice served on him over the alleged discrepancy.

According to official sources, the Panchayat Secretaries have to monitor maintenance of sanitation in their respective Gram Panchayats daily before 7 a.m. and mark their attendance with their geo-tagged photographs on the DSR App, as per the provisions of the Panchayat Raj Act 2018.
