Five persons, including three house maids, were arrested on Tuesday (March 11) in connection with the theft of gold, diamond and cash, worth ₹35 lakh, from a house at Jubilee Hills.
Police recovered gold, diamond ornaments and cash worth ₹28 lakh from the accused who have been sent to Chanchalguda Central Prison on Tuesday (March 11, 2025).
The accused were identified as 29-year-old Shaik Haseena, 19-year-old Shaik Waheeda, 19-year-old Lotha Anusha, 20, all housemaids. Police also arrested two receivers of the stolen property — 40-year-old Salima Begum, from Kurnool, and 37-year-old Adilaxmi, a resident of East Godavari.
The theft was reported at a residence on Road No. 22 Jubilee Hills, where the three housemaids had been employed. Faced with financial difficulties, they conspired to steal valuables from their employer’s house.
Police recovered an 11-gram gold chain, gold earrings with green pendants weighing 13 grams, a pair of gold earrings with white diamond studs (1.2 carats each), and cash amounting to ₹4.8 lakh.
