ADMK Workers’ Rights Retrieval Committee coordinator O. Panneerselvam on Friday (December 20, 2024) alleged that firms, whose samples for tur dal (thuvaram paruppu) and palm oil did not pass the quality check, had been chosen by the State Civil Supplies Corporation on account of “pressure exerted from the top.”

In a statement, he referred to the tender floated by the Corporation for the procurement of 60,000 tonnes of tur dal andsix crore litres of palm oil, and sought the intervention of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in the matter. 

On youth’s murder on Tirunelveli court premises

In posts on their social media handles, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran said the killing of a youth on the premises of a Tirunelveli court was a reflection of the “deterioration” of law and order in the State. They urged the government to bring the guilty to book.
