Rama Navami procession concluded peacefully amid tight security in Hyderabad

The Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra procession in Hyderabad was conducted peacefully on Sunday (April 6, 2025) amid tight security and close coordination between multiple government departments.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand monitored arrangements throughout the day, inspecting the entire procession route and coordinating with the Sri Ramanavami Utsav Committee to ensure an early start to the event.

The main processions, which commenced from various localities, culminated at the Hanuman Gymnasium in Sultan Bazaar, passing through Mangalhat, Begum Bazar Chhatri, Siddiamber Bazar, Gowliguda Kaman, Gurudwara, Putli Bowli Chowrasta, and Kothi Andhra Bank.

A Joint Command and Control Centre operated from the Integrated Command and Control Centre building, where officials from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Emergency Management and Research Institute, Fire Department, Electricity Department, and the Traffic Police monitored the event in real time. They issued timely instructions to on-ground personnel to maintain order and respond to any developments.

Mr.Anand oversaw the situation using live drone footage and CCTV camera feed, relaying directions to officers on the field via radio and WhatsApp channels. Senior officers including Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), and Joel Davis, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), were also present along the route to supervise the security and logistical arrangements.

An estimated 20,000 police personnel were deployed across the city as part of the security apparatus for the procession, which draws thousands of devotees annually.
