The Halasuru Gate police arrested a salesman from Hisar district, Haryana in the second week of March for allegedly cheating a hardware company in S.P. Road, he worked for.
According to the police, the company had lodged a complaint against four salesmen who worked at the company till November last year accusing them of allegedly supplying welding rods worth ₹96 lakh to various customers in Bengaluru, Mandya and Channaptna districts, pocketing the money and fleeing. Following the complaint, the police served notices to the salesmen asking them to appear for questioning.
The accused appeared before the police and reportedly confessed to having cheated the company. Police have recovered ₹11.24 lakh from him. Two other salesmen who were named in the complaint were found to be not involved. A probe is under way to track down the second accused in the case.
