A 22-year-old singer-songwriter, was arrested by the excise officials for allegedly selling marijuana in Green Heels Colony, Kothapet on Friday, August 1. The accused, identified as Rajadityan, was found in possession of 4.25 kilograms of marijuana during a raid conducted by the Saroornagar District Task Force (DTF).
According to officials, Rajadityan, who reportedly became addicted to marijuana, had turned to selling the drug to support his habit and earn money. Following a tip-off, a search was carried out in the accused’s apartment.
Investigation revealed that the marijuana had been sourced from the Sileru region of Andhra Pradesh, where it was procured at low prices. It was then brought to Hyderabad and sold at higher rates.
The seized contraband was handed over to the Saroornagar excise station, and further investigation is underway.
