Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss on Friday (May 15, 2025) attributed the absence of several district secretaries at a party meeting to exhaustion, following their participation in the recently concluded Vanniyar Youth Conference at Mamallapuram.

Speaking to reporters at his Thailapuram residence near Tindivanam, Dr. Ramadoss said a few district secretaries told him over the phone that they would not be able to participate in the meeting. In case any district secretaries feel like they would not be able to put in the work due to exhaustion or health issues, they would be replaced as per their will and pleasure, he said.

Responding to a question on the absence of the party’s “working president” (a post designated by Dr. Ramadoss) Anbumani Ramadoss at the meeting, he said Dr. Anbumani had been invited.

Dr. Ramadoss said the party aimed to win at least 50 Assembly seats in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, and the PMK’s strength would only “augment the position of our alliance as a whole.” He further said the district secretaries have been asked to put in the required effort to reach this goal.
