In a move to deliver efficient and transparent services, the government of Telangana is set to reorganise sub-registrar offices and construct permanent state-of-the-art facilities under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, announced Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Addressing a meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said that the State will construct permanent sub-registrar offices with advanced amenities, addressing the current situation where only 37 of the 144 offices operate from their own premises, while the rest function from rented facilities. “These proposed integrated sub-registrar offices will be established in Gachibowli, SangaReddy, Patancheru, Medchal, Quthbullapur, Uppal, Kandukur, Gandipet and Serilingampalli. In Hyderabad, three offices —Banjara Hills, SR Nagar, and Golconda — will be merged and built in Sheikhpet,” he said. A flagship project in Gachibowli, set to become a model for other offices, will begin construction this month. Designed on at least three acres, these facilities will feature 10,000-15,000 square feet of building space, spacious waiting halls, drinking water facilities and ample parking.
Minister Srinivas Reddy emphasised that the initiative aims to equalise workloads, reduce corruption, and enhance monitoring and performance. The reorganisation will also address high-demand areas by establishing new offices, ultimately expediting file processing and ensuring better public service.
The use of technology to minimise corruption and streamline operations was a focal point of the discussions, with officials directed to develop an actionable plan immediately.
This initiative marks a significant step towards modernisation, providing the public with accessible and efficient government services in a user-friendly environment.
The meeting was attended by Khammam MP R. Raghuram Reddy, District Collectors, and Registrars from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Sangareddy districts. Principal Secretary (Revenue) Naveen Mittal and Stamps and Registration IG Jyoti Buddha Prakash were also present.
