Surprise checks at private hostels near Cusat campus

The police conducted surprise checks at private hostels and paying guest accommodations near the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) campus here on Saturday night (March 15).

The checks were part of follow-up action initiated after the seizure of 2 kilograms of ganja from the men’s hostel of the Government Polytechnic College at Kalamassery.

The Kalamassery police said a person was arrested with 2 grams of suspected ganja as part of the inspection, though further details were awaited.
