A 35-year-old woman died after she slipped and fell on the railway tracks while trying to board a moving train at the Kazhakuttam railway station here on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Karthika Devi, a native of Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
Ms. Devi, who was on a visit to Kerala along with her family members, fell on the tracks and sustained serious injuries as she attempted to board the Madurai-bound train, which had begun moving. Though the woman was rushed to the nearest hospital, doctors declared her brought dead, the police said.
