Telangana Innovation Cell launches host institution programme, signs MoUs with 18 colleges 

To amplify and decentralise the vision to build and nurture inclusive innovation across the State, the Telangana Innovation Cell (TGIC) on Wednesday launched its host institution programme and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with 18 colleges.

The programme aims at establishing ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cells’ within each of these colleges to make them hubs for students and local entrepreneurship and ensure TGIC activities and initiatives reach every district for maximum impact.

According to Interim CEO (TGIC) Meraj Faheem, the host institution programme is a crucial step in building a sustainable ecosystem in Telangana. “It will be a resounding success, if innovation thrives at every level, ensuring the programmes are accessible and impactful across the State,” she said.

The 18 colleges, designated as ‘TGIC host institutions’ now, will act as key drivers for the grassroots initiatives of the Cell and for cultivating a thriving innovation ecosystem throughout the State.

They will receive support from TGIC such as being the local entrepreneurship cells, as primary points of contact in districts, organizing awareness sessions, facilitating industry engagement and empowering students and local innovators.

College (A) — Nizamabad, Trinity Degree and PG College — Peddapalli, JNTUH University College of Engineering — Rajanna Sircilla, Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Degree College for Women — Rangareddy, Government Degree College Siddipet, Anurag Engineering College — Suryapet, Government Degree College (Co-ed) — Wanaparthy, Takshashila Degree College — Vikarabad, and Government ITI College, Aler-Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.
