TGMC cracks down on unqualified medical practitioners in Kamareddy

Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) officials on Tuesday conducted inspections targeting unqualified medical practitioners across Kamareddy district.

The inspections revealed that many clinics were staffed by individuals without medical qualifications who were administering dangerous treatments, including antibiotics, steroids, and painkiller injections, without proper prescriptions. 

The surprise inspections, led by Dr. A. Sunny Davis and Dr. Sirish Kumar, covered Gandhari village, Banswada town, and Pitlam village. In Gandhari, several unqualified clinics were identified, including Gurukripa Clinic, Saritha Clinic, Hemsingh First Aid Centre, and Akshaya Clinic. In Banswada, Venkateswara First Aid Clinic and a medical centre operated by an individual named Sudharshan were flagged. Additionally, Haritha Clinic in Pitlam, was flagged during the raids.

A report will be submitted to the relevant authorities, and the Telangana Medical Council has warned that cases will be filed under the National Medical Commission (NMC) and Telangana State Medical Practitioners’ Registration (TSMPR) Acts, said a release.
