Three killed, one injured as car hits divider in Kerala’s Kasaragod

Three people were killed in a car accident at Vamanjoor, Hosangadi, Kasaragod, Kerala, on Monday (March 3) night.

The deceased were identified as Janaradhana (58), his son Arun and their relative Krishna Kumar (23) from Baikatte. The accident happened after their speeding car crashed into a divider.

Another person, Rathan, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru.

They were travelling from Kasaragod to Mangaluru when the crash happened. The car was completely damaged in the impact.

The incident occurred in front of the Excise checkpost, a spot where residents claim accidents have happened before.

The police have attributed the cause of the accident to speeding. However, local residents have also blamed faulty highway construction and the lack of warning signs.

The rescue operation was jointly carried out by local residents and the police. Authorities are investigating the incident.
