Three police stations on the city’s outskirts – Avalahalli and Hebbagodi from Bengaluru Rural district and Kumbalagodu from Bengaluru South district – will be added to the Bengaluru City Police Commissionerate by June 6.
M.A. Saleem, Director General and Inspector General of Police, issued an order on Tuesday asking these stations to be added to the West and South Divisions of Bengaluru city police and function under the supervision of the city police commissioner.
The order said that the above-mentioned three police stations, along with existing staff should be handed over by the respective heads to BCP and be taken over immediately. “The existing staff of these police stations will continue to work in the same place on an OOD basis from Bengaluru Rural and Bengaluru South districts to BCP for one month, within which time they should be replaced by staff of BCP,” the order said.
Additionally, reorganisation of jurisdiction through inclusion and exclusion of villages to the jurisdiction of BCP and Bengaluru Rural and Bengaluru South districts has also been ordered, and the same should also be implemented immediately by June 6, Mr. Saleem said in his order.
