Three people arrested on charges of moral policing in Karnataka’s Sagar taluk

The Sagar Rural police have arrested three people on charges of being involved in an act of moral policing. The accused allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old girl and her colleague, who were on their way to their workplace on a bike, on Monday, July 7.

According to the complaint registered by the police, the girl, a native of Sorab taluk, was on her way to Shahi Garments in Sagar with her colleague on a bike, when a group of six people stopped them. The accused questioned the girl why she was going with a person belonging to another religion, following which, they allegedly assaulted both of them.

Based on the complaint filed by the duo, the police arrested three of the accused, viz. Shabbir, Arbas, and Afraz. A few more involved in the case are still absconding.
