Final-year M.Sc. Statistics students G. Sandhiya, S. Bhavadharani, and A. Gladio Shylie have undergone training from experts as part of the ‘Official Statistics’ programme conducted by the National Statistical System Training Academy in New Delhi recently.
The students were among 32 meritorious candidates selected for the programme from all over India. The training was held from December 23 to 27, 2024 under the auspices of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, according to a press release from Bharathidasan University.
The students were trained by experts on topics such as Indian statistical system, Indian Statistical Service, national accounts, surveys conducted by National Sample Survey Organisation, sustainable development, and so on.
Vice-Chancellor M. Selvam and Registrar in-charge R. Kalidasan felicitated the students.
The certified students would serve as ‘Master Trainers’ and disseminate the information to their fellow students and scholars, said the release.
