A tiger was found dead in Ramadevara Halla near Belur in Hassan district on Sunday (February 10, 2025) evening.
Villagers spotted the animal and informed the officers of the Forest Department. By the time officers reached the spot, it was dark. They could not conduct a post-mortem.
Sourabh Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer of Hassan, told The Hindu that the animal had been spotted in the forest patches of Hassan and Belur taluks since August 2024. The animal was about three to four years old.
“Yesterday evening we received information about the animal found dead in Ramadevara Halla. Veterinarians will reach the place today and conduct a post-mortem. Later, we will know the cause of death,” he said.
