After a hiatus, The Hindu Huddle, a marquee event of The Hindu Group, will be held in Bengaluru on May 9 and 10. The inaugural address will be delivered by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
This year’s theme, “India in Dialogue”, is a celebration of meaningful debates and conversations. At a time when noise often drowns out nuance, The Hindu Huddle creates space for listening, reflection, and authentic connections.
This edition will bring together top policymakers of India and global experts to speak about the most pressing issues of today. These include the opportunities and challenges of living with the global repercussions of U.S. economic policies, the geopolitical concerns of the Indian subcontinent, delimitation, the future of liberal education, the importance of technology in addressing climate change, how women are redefining content and its consumption in mainstream cinema, and the rise of non-communicable diseases in India.
Speaking about this edition, Narayan Lakshman, Opinion Editor, The Hindu, and Curator, The Hindu Huddle, says, “The Hindu Huddle has already made a name for itself over four previous editions. Presented, year on year, in a cosmopolitan city like Bengaluru, and exemplifying The Hindu’s contemporary spirit of journalistic inquiry, The Hindu Huddle is known for consistently bringing cutting-edge dialogues to our audiences, with experts from across the world engaging in fruitful conversations for change.”
Speakers at The Huddle include Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Hardeep Singh Puri; Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah, A. Revanth Reddy, and Devendra Fadnavis; former member of the Afghanistan Parliament and former peace negotiator with the Taliban Fawzia Koofi; former cricketers Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami; BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia; medical experts Dr. Preetha Reddy, Dr. Anoop Misra, and Dr. Chandrakant Lahariya; actors Nandita Das and Shahana Goswami; and climate change experts Sambuddha Mishra, Vibha Dhawan, and Arunabha Ghosh.
This year, The Hindu is taking The Huddle to the youth. Many sessions have been curated specifically for young minds.
In the run-up to the main event, The Hindu will be hosting mini-Huddles — thought-provoking discussions on topics that matter — across colleges in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. These are not just debates, but dialogues that aim to inspire, inform, and involve. Interactive activities have also been designed to spark engagement and give the live audience a chance to interact directly with the speakers.
As Mr. Lakshman says, “As a brand, we have stood firm through the vicissitudes of time and flux in the media ecosystem, to deliver a premium product that puts the interests of the reader, the viewer, and the listener above all else. The Hindu Huddle is back with a bang, and it will be an ideas conclave like no other.”
